Brandon Inge was involved in a multi car accident this morning. No injuries were reported.

I am glad no one was hurt. But now he decides to start hitting something?!?

"Washtenaw Co. Sheriff Derrick Jackson says Inge's vehicle slid through a stop sign at Parker and Scio Church Road Tuesday morning and swiped five other cars."

OK...so the roads were icy. But how do you manage to hit 5 other cars? And no tickets?

WOW....unbelievable. The 5 other cars must have belonged to people that voted Inge as POTG.

We'll see how much shit Inge gets compared to the superstar Suh.

He coulda made the stop sign if Mother Nature wasn't pitching him conditions like he's Steve McQueen. I mean, he can stop any time he wants to with just a flick of his ankle, but he's been trying to stop for average rather than distance. Also, don't forget that he's better at stopping on Michigan roads than Pudge was, so he doesn't know why Leyland always asks Pudge to drive him places.

In other news, despite his accident, Inge was voted as Michigan AAA driver of the day.

how many other times can you say inge had a multi-hit day?

it's a shame the other cars weren't down and outside.

Another comedian in the crowd, I love it!

Obviously Inge has proved that he is much more proficient at check-swinging his bat, than with his vehicle.

Someone posted in the Freep's comments section, that Inge has put on a "bit" more weight to the tune of ~20 lbs since the Tigers' postseason ended on a such a sorry double-digit blowout note.

Dunno if it is true, of course, but if so, I "hope" that he plans on getting into "better" playing shape come the new year and prior to that, has enough willpower to push away from the Christmas dinner(s) table and not have a second helping of pie and cake for desserts...

Putting on weight after a regular season that included the humiliation of being fucking DFAed as a 10-5 veteran and couldn't even hit his weight even then....maybe Inge figures that if he weighs proportionally as much as the "Babe" had during the best hitting parts of his HOF career, then maybe he might be able to hit his @ .200+ lbs as well???

??? :(

Maybe that is partly why Inge lost control of his full-size extended-cab Ford pickup, he couldn't get to stop the steering wheel from turning, or take his foot off the brake at the same time, when his expanding gut might have got in the way of his elbows?

::)

I think you meant better "playing" weight for Inge, Turok. :)

Yeah, that is what I meant....Brandon should lose that extra weight...then get in playing shape physically so Inge can checkswing K with a more lithe and svelte profile, that and not being mistaken by the Inge POTG-texting slappies du-jour for Matt Stairs ca. late '06...haha!!

;)

He doesn't need more weight or mustle. He thinks he's a HR hitter when he's not. I hope they fire his ass.

Inge has been very fortunate in that he plays an IF position that has a relative scarcity of above average if not star MLB-quality players available in FA or trade, and those few who are or were can get big money or had/would/could cost many blue chip prospects in exchange for being in extreme demand..that and the fact that the Tigers haven't drafted and groomed a suitable replacement who was/is ready as yet, not to mention their obsession with drafting mostly high round SPs over the past decade or so, while largely ignoring high(er) round positional prospects.

But Inge has become so awful on offensive, that if his declining D suffers as much as his horrific performances at the dish, next season...then I would be in favor of playing a raw Castellanos-type @ 3B or perhaps better still, move Peralta there and play Santiago FT @ SS.

No doubt. When he was extended I knew it was because of scarcity at 3B but 3 years.
