Those Iranian youngsters took a huge chance by allowing themselves to be recorded doing something that they should have known would get them punished if it leaked to the authorities.

They might have done so in defiance of the mullahs, since at the very least the women know that they are not supposed to expose so much of their bodies to males who they are not married to, nor both sexes be in close proximity or have casual communication with each other. Dancing together, much less even listening to evil Western music is most definitely forbidden.
