Jim Schwartz named Bills Defensive Coordinator

The Lions are set to play the Bills or Dolphins on Thanksgiving next season. I hope it's the Bills, and I hope they drop 50 on em.

Gym Shorts may be collecting a $$$ paycheck from two NFL teams this year and the next...gahh!!

Not many employees in this country have been fired from their job for incompetence, and as a result, become even more wealthy...meh.

Many of our HC became coordinators elsewhere so not a surprise.

Took Todd Dowling with him as qb coach. Since he did so much for Stafford lets see what he does with EJ.

their defense will make Schwartz look better than he is. Not sure how much more Mario has left in the tank....but Alonso, dareus, aaron Williams is a good start for any D.

On top of that, Miami and NY were bottom 10 in total offense last year, which will account for a quarter of the Bills schedule. Schwartz walked into a decent situation.

Looks like I was wrong, b/c according to this tweet, Shorts did have offsets in his Lions HCing contract:

UPDATE: Thanks, Bills!
The #Lions benefit from Jim Schwartz being hired by #Bills. His contract had offsets. So it helps Detroit pay off the $12M it owes him.

Lions also play the Bills annually in the preseason, so we may get a preview of the TGD game.

So does Detroit get off the hook with said amount of money?

Rapoport tweeted "helps" so I imagine that whatever Shorts contract as DC pays him (during '14-'15), that would be the amount subtracted from the $$12 MM that the Lions owe him.

Any savings whatsoever helps. And as for Schwartz, I think he will step right in and keep the Bills defense one of the top 10 in the league next season if they can get Byrd resigned.

Yep, I think he's gonna do good over there in Buffalo as well. Just an assclown of a head coach I guess lol.

I was going to say who cares ain't my money, but then again I actually pay to watch these losers. I choose to believe my money goes towards Stafford's moob cream however.

Read that the Bills were using a 3-4 defensive scheme under their (fired) DC Wannstedt, then went to a 4-3 for a season ('12) then to a hybrid 3-4 last year under DC Pettine, (hired by Browns as HC) and now with Shorts they likely return to a 4-3...flip-flop...flip-flop...ahaha!!

Bills fans on Buffalo Rumblings were discussing the hire of Shorts as their DC, mixed reactions, but mostly concerns about discipline..of course.

Dunno if Gym would use the wide 9, but doubtful in his first season anyway. Buffalo may need to use a high pick in the draft to get a DE like Khalil Mack in the first round.

They will gladly take Mack, granted he is still even there.

Every year a player is a product of mock drafts. This year it's Mack. I'll be suprised if he goes top ten, IMO top 15 or 20 would be a shock. He needs a great combine.
