DT Jason Jones agreed to a deal with the Lions, according to his agent, Mike McCartney.

3 year deal

Yep and the Lions have some room with Suh's restrucutre. Plus ways to get more.

I guess it depends on who we draft. But at least we got someone. Now the big question, is he any good?

I don't think they are counting on him to dominate.....just as a compliment to whatever DE they draft. He will fill the KVB role of solid rusher who is good against the pass.

We still need that edge guy.

@BobMcGinn
These look like 2 smart signings: Versatile, p-rushing Jason Jones to Det, athletic, bright S Patrick Chung to Philly ... if both healthy.

ansah is my guess

Looking at how Jones did at DE in 2011, we should keep him at DT for sure.

For those asking RT: @jkatzenstein: Schwartz said Jones will primarily play DE, but can play inside. #Lions

Jason Jones - DL - Lions A source "with knowledge of the Lions' plans" says Jason Jones was not signed with the intention of starting him at defensive end.
The Lions reportedly see Jones as an inside rusher out of the nickel spot. It's something he's very capable of, but this leaves a big gap at the starting defensive end spots vacated by Cliff Avril and Kyle Vanden Bosch. We'll see what other additions the Lions make before projecting Jones' exact role. Source: Profootballtalk on NBCSports.com Mar 14 - 9:28 AM
