geez, at least we have one possibly good piece of news for Sunday

Coach Mike Smith would not rule out Julio Jones (hamstring) for Sunday's game against the Lions.
Jones missed practice on Wednesday and the Falcons have a bye looming in Week 8, so signs are pointing toward him sitting. Still, Smith remains hopeful. "Julio is the kind of guy who is going to push the envelope," he said. We'll know more after Thursday's practice.

He didn't play against the Panthers either..and they pounded them.

They'll run Turner , and play defense.

Lions just can't give it back to them like the Panthers did with bad interceptions.

I still like Atlanta.but hope to be wrong.

C'mon MoMo. He's been good when he had to come in and provide steady rushing yards. If he can't give us some yards then we're kind of fucked.......... and by kind of fucked I mean really fucked.

I'm more concerned with Michael Turner and Tony G. than Julio Jones.

I was at that opening day game back in '08 where Matt Ryan's first ever professional pass went for a 70+ yard TD and then Michael Turner had 220 yards. I'll never forget Chris Berman on NFL Live after that game "MICHAEL TURNER! ON pace for over THREE THOUSAND yards!!"

I laughed.

But ya, he owns us.

I honestly don't think we see that big of a drop off without best starting... He was only a threat in the open field and he was rarely able to get past the D line...

I expect a better run defense if Durant is playing, Carpenter cant shed a block to save his life

they're 12th in the NFL against the run , but they're brutal vs the pass.

So I guess Staff wings it 50 times again....

You must not think 687 yards and 3 TD's through 6 games is very much. He has more yards than AP, Chris Jonhson and a bunch more.

lol...okay so every back should be as good in receiving yardage as jahvid right?...

Good point Slick, though Sam Baker hasn't been very good this year from what I have heard on the TV. I think we can win this game pretty easily if we just contain Turner and make John Abraham a non-factor.

No not saying that....but when you run a spread offense and line up calvin burleson titus youre going to have a lot of space underneath. Not to mention we have been sending pettigrew on routes to occupy a LB instead of helping out Backus....soooooo....youre not left with much to cover a RB out of the backfield. Im guessing they pay even less attention to Morris compared to Jahvid.

Hes out...

Julio Jones (hamstring) said Friday that he doesn't know whether he'll be able to play after the Falcons' Week 8 bye.
Jones, who is listed as "doubtful" for Week 7 but won't play, told the Associated Press that he's "not certain" to play against Indianapolis on November 6, either. It's always concerning to hear a player be openly worried about his own injury, but it does seem like the Falcons expect Jones to return after the bye. Fantasy owners should hang onto Jones in the meantime.

Sam Baker - T - Falcons Falcons LT Sam Baker (back) is in jeopardy of missing this week's game against the Lions.
Will Svitek would get the start if Baker can't go. Pass protection has been a major issue in Atlanta through six weeks. Baker's absence would complicate matters against the Lions' fierce pass rush. Related: Will SvitekSource: Atlanta Journal-Constituti

Abraham is healthy and that's scary.

Glad Julio is out. We don't need that dual threat at WR. Should be a tough game but the Lions will be victorious.
