we still have mayhew....so prater wont mean jack.

2014 DRAFT PICKS

1 10(10) E. Ebron TE North Carolina
2 8(40) K. Van Noy - Brigham Young
3 12(76) T. Swanson - Arkansas
4 33(133) N. Lawson - Utah State
4 36(136) L. Webster DE Bloomsburg
5 18(158) C. Reid DT Princeton
6 13(189) T. Jones WR Notre Dame
7 14(229) N. Freese - Boston College

With a functioning kicker we would be 4-1 at least. With an injured CJ for two games. Relax hughes.

We also have a defense for the first time since ever. The offense needs to pick it up, and I expect it will improve as the season goes. It's the first year in an entirely new system.

Just a reminder. This team was stacked with talent before the draft. And way too early to tell me a draft pick sucks or is good.

Should be 4-1 with a kicker. They'll rebound starting this week.

you were awful quiet last week hughes. Couple missed kicks and you are running your mouth again. Typical

Everyone knows that 5 games is the right amount of time to judge a draft class.

of course it's too early....but it would be nice to see one player have a positive impact on the team. The only player that has had any impact was the kicker that sucked ass!

As much as I hated the Ebron pick, this doesn't look like a terrible draft class in this short amount of time. Ebron, Van Noy and Swanson will be starters next year. Lawson looks like a very good nickel db. Reid and Webster are good depth guys. Jones and Freese are bad picks.

While I don't think we got perennial pro bowlers in this class, I have seen much worse draft year for the Lions.

Pretty small sample size.

Van Noy is going to be a stud, Webster is a rotational guy(Willie Youngs replacement), TJ Jones will probably be the #3 receiver next year. If Jones was healthy I bet he'd have Fullers snaps. Injuries decimated this draft class till whatever week Van Noy comes back. I get the criticism guys, losing these guys that could be having an impact is annoying me as well. Van Noy's return alone will shut us all up though. Guy is going to be a beast. Week 8 or 10?

Hippo, Ebron should be starting now. He should be getting more than 4 targets a game. He was drafted to be an immediate big impact player. He's been a total disappointment. Whether or not they don't trust him in games, or he just hasn't performed in practice, who knows. But I'm sick of hearing announcers gush over how much of a mismatch he is, and then go on to catch 2 balls for 8 yards.

There's enough of a sample size now to be concerned about him, or concerned about how the coaches can't figure out how to use him.

I agree. A top ten pick should start right away. I wanted Gilbert and would have settled for Dennard instead of the Ebron pick. Like I said, he may make a pro bowl down the road but I don't judge receivers immediately. Especially since we have a lot of weapons to spread the ball despite of Mayhew's need for more weapons.

Stafford doesn't see Ebron out there, wide open and in position to make a big play more than once vs buffalo in that article LKP posted. I think Stafford has more to do with Ebrons lack of production right now than Ebron does.

And again, it could be a complete mismanagement from the coaching staff on how to get him involved. But when you have so many other areas of need on this team, and you use a 10th overall pick on a luxury (which TEs are), I expect that after 5 games you can at least SEE what he's up to and how he's going to impact a game. That has been far from the case, and he's been a disappointment (so far).

That's part of it too, that our sixth year QB is still having trouble finding open guys not named Calvin.

Imo, Ebron was drafted to satisfy Lombardi.

He will until he (Stafford) is replaced. I'm honestly surprised Tate is getting so many targets, and that he's not targeting Calvin on the bench.

There was the same analysis done on Broyles last year, got open but Staff didn't see him.

If you aren't the primary target on the play the ball Jan coming to you unless you are a RB/dump off option.
