Kiper had Waynes going #16

smart move to go, hate to see it but good for him

it's crazy to think that we could have first round picks in consecutive years and both were 2 star recruits

And another 2 years ago (Bell) that went in the 2nd round that was also a 2 star recruit.

And think about this for a minute, in the 2011 class our 3 lowest rated recruits were Waynes, Calhoun, and Conner Cook. All 3 will be 1st or 2nd rounders. Followed by ZERO Star Jack Conklin who will likely be a top 15 pick when he comes out.

We have stepped up our recruiting in terms of rankings, but I still think we're getting underrated guys. I think Montae Nicholson was underrated as a high 4 star, should have been a 5 star as I have a hard time believing there were more than a couple guys in the country who were as good of athletes in high school with his size. I think Tyriq Thompson, low 4 star, is also underrated after seeing him in the Semper Fi AA game, he also grew a couple inches his senior year and is closer to 6-3 than 6-1 now. LJ Scott is #52 in the country, but that too might be low, he was the best player on the field at the Semper Fi AA game and many have stated he's one of the top 2 backs in the nation. TJ Harrell and Madre London are also underrated low 4 star recruits, both were over 210 lbs in high school running 4.4 flat forties and 10.7 100m dashes.

I think we have more NFL players on the roster now than ever before.

Please explain this one. Cook and Calhoun were both 3 star kids out of class of 21 w/ no 5 stars, only two 4 stars and two 2 stars (Waynes being one of them). So out of 17 3-star kids, cook who attended the Elite 11 camp and Calhoun who kinda flew under the radar in the talent rich State of New Jersey were 2 of the 3 lowest rated recruits? Cook's Rivals rating (5.7) has him tied for the highest rating of any 3 star in his class - only the two 4 star kids (Thomas and Branden Clemons) had higher Rivals scores.

247 has Waynes, Calhoun, and Cook as our 3 lowest rates recruits that year save for TE Paul Lang, so pretty close. And that's the composite scoring system they use.

Got it. Rivals has Waynes as one of only two 2 stars but Cook's composite score in a multi-way tie for highest rated 3 star in the class. And if I recall correctly, just a 1/10th of a point below the two 4 stars so effectively hair shy of being a 4 star. Plus he went to the Elite 11 camp and from what I recall, there was quite a bit of buzz about him.

I always said Waynes would be a better pro than Dennard. I'm still convinced that he will be, and if he runs a low 4.4 he will be drafted in the 10-15 range.
