I was looking at some off the radar guys who could be steals either late or UDFA. I picked one at each position of need for the Lions.

QB Casey Pachall, TCU
C Gabe Ikard, Oklahoma
WR Marcus Lucas, Missouri
TE Jordan Najvar, Baylor
OLB Devon Kennard, USC
S Nickoe Whitley, Miss St
DE Kerry Wynn, Richmond
CB Aaron Colvin, Oklahoma

Some of these guys have serious off-field issues but could be worth a look.

always though isiah lewis would be nice depth/back up pick late in the draft.

Isn't Colvin the guy who tore his ACL at the Senior Bowl practice?

About 5'11" and skinny as a rail, with a torn ACL. I wouldn't like that "steal" at all.

Now Kerry Wynn, that's a big old man I would love to see in a late round. What do you figure, 5th, maybe 6th round?

That guy is like 6'5" and 270 with room to bulk it up. He could be a beast with the right up-coaching.

Colvin did tear his ACL at the Senior Bowl. ACL injury are a bigger red flag to me than a positive drug test. It is more of a 2 yr selection. I don't expect anything from him this season.

I think Wynn will be a 7th or UDFA. Depends on who will take a risk on the guy but the measurables are there.

I heard some guy on XM radio (NFL channel) talking up Kennard from USC. He was saying he is under rated and should go in the mid rounds.

Tajh Boyd - QB - Clemson

Been on that bandwagon since before people even knew who Sammy Watkins was.

Tahj Boyd I agree with you on. Every time I look at video of Watkins, I see impressive throws from Boyd.

The kid has an arm, he's accurate, and he's got the wheels too.

I suspect he's gone in the 3rd though, and maybe earlier. I strongly believe Boyd, Savage, and Carr have the goods to be better than Manziel, Bortles, or Bridgewater.

The best QBs will not be the first taken if you ask me.

Another intriguing guy to me is Larry Webster from Bloomsburg. He is an undersized DE. He only played one season of college football. He played 4 years of college basketball. He would definitely be a developmental prospect. His father played 11 seasons in the NFL.

Lions brought Webster in for a visit.
