Lesean McCoy traded to the Bills

The Philadelphia Eagles have a trade in place to send running back LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

In return, the Bills will send linebacker Kiko Alonso to the Eagles, the source said.

Drafted in the second round of the 2009 draft out of Pittsburgh, McCoy has spent his entire six-season career in Philadelphia.

He rushed for 1,319 yards and tallied five touchdowns last season for the Eagles.

Alonso missed all of the 2014-15 season with a torn ACL, but in his rookie season of 2013 he played every defensive snap and ranked third in the NFL with 159 tackles.

The trade can not be made official until the new league year begins next Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.

That's what I'm thinking. This deal doesn't make a lot of sense. He's only like 27 years old. I looked at his contract and it looks like they can save about 7 million this year against the cap but the Eagles aren't anywhere close to being in cap trouble. Maybe it was an off the field issue???

Up and comming lb on a rookie contract for a rb on his final 2 years. Throw in chip just needs a system rb and has sproles and polk. I dont see a problem with the deal. Mccoy williams and cole gone.....they could be clearing space for someone.

And if alonso blows out both knees tomorrow and loses his head in a freak basket weaving accident....hes owed $1mil over the next 2 years. Cheap talent that produces. Much different than cheap talent that hasnt done anything in 4 years.

You're not ok with cheap talent that has injury history from the draft (Broyles, Best) but you're ok with cheap talent with injury history acquired in a trade. Just doesn't make much sense is all.

FWIW, I really like Kiko Alonso and I think if they replace McCoy's production that it was very smooth.

Our recent trades have been the likes of mike thomas.....so ya...a trade for kiko alonso would make ne ecstatic.
