Lions Fantasy Evaluation

I strongly agree with picking up Abdullah as a real value pick in the middle rounds.

Picking up rookies is always a gamble. In a PPR league Abdullah could be an ok bye week option, but I wouldn't want to count on him. He most likely will have some good FF games and some that are very bad. Will he get any goal line chances?

I would probably take him as my #4 RB on my team (In a 12 team league).

True and same here, but I would take him over a lot of other RBs that fall in his range. Mostly are splitting carries at that point anyways, I think they manufacture 10 touches a game run/pass for him.

Abdullah is totally draftable, but at a wait and see approach.

I play in an extremely deep 12 team/4 keeper league. I will have my eye on Abdullah in the mid to late rounds.

Yes it is. Shows you don't rely on a rookies. Great roster built by Mayhew. 2nd year and beyond is when they produce.

you complain about our run support every year....you are like the real life version of the human centipede when you talk about the lions.

2011 4.3 YPC even with Best out 10. 41 Stafford Tds
2013 4 YPC. 6 bad games, 10 good (Bush and Waddle injury games were bad, Sims has never been a run blocker but was good in pass pro 2010-2013)
2014 injury galores (Waddle/Hilliard, Warford, Bush, Reiff) 3.6 YPC

Injuries have hurt our run support. 2014 we had so many injuries. They'll rebound and even upgraded with Laken/Man Ram, Swanson 2nd year and Abdullah additions plus Waddle health/Lucas experience. Great job Mayhew but some bad luck in there, especially 2014. It takes massive injuries to hurt our production but that doesn't stop the good W/L record anymore (11-5 with no run support).

Lions had good passing, run defense, pass rush and pass defense. That is a great job by Mayhew no matter the run support injuries.

Good team. With some health and upgrades we made, great team (top 10 offense, top 5 defense)

2012 was weapon and secondary injuries. Peterman regressed though. Unexpected after 2010/2011 from him.
2013 was weapon (Calvin, Burleson, Bush 1.5 games, Waddle 4 games) and secondary injuries. Houston hurt twice and playing hurt, Quin playing hurt, Bentley some games, Mathis a few games, Slay a few games (plus Slay needed to develop).

2014 massive Oline injuries hurt the run game but our passing and defense got us to 11 wins. The secondary finally stayed health and Tate upgraded our offense. Great job Mayhew.

I don't think he'll get the carries for it with Abdullah in town now even if they run more. 5 YPC on 240 carries would do it though. Don't see him getting 270+ carries to get to 1,200 at 4.4 YPC. Lamar Miller, Jeremy Hill and Forsett all had over 200 carries and over 5 YPC last year. It's possible.

With run blocking upgrades in Swanson/Man/Ram/Laken and healthy Warford and Waddle, Bell can do well this year. Yards after contact was good. Elusive rating was good. 4.4 YPC second half of season for Bell was good. 4.7 YPC in the 4th Quarter last year. First half of season wasn't great with poor run blocking and battling some injuries.

Get healthy this month and we'll have ourselves a nice running game and run combo. Stafford deserves either a run game or protection this year. Maybe both.
