I missed the game due to family obligations - one thing that struck me as odd from the recap was Ahrens' 41 minutes vs. Bingham's 1. Is Bingham that raw? Does he play no defense? I don't expect the minutes to be reversed and some of Ahrens' minutes probably had something to do w/ the McQuaid injury so those minutes aren't going to a 4 but still Ahrens had 7 more minutes on the floor than anyone else on the team - that seems out of whack to me.

Another thing that stood out was Goins' 29 minutes, zero points and missing the front end of a one-and-one with the game tied and 9 seconds left on the clock.

I too can’t figure out why Bingham isn’t getting more minutes. He needs some more muscle but he has glimpses of JJJ.I will say that Ahrens was my whipping boy a couple years ago but he looks much improved and can knock down big shots, I think he’s been pretty unsung so far this year.

Even though it’s a pretty meaningless loss yesterday pissed me off. The turnover in the final 20 seconds was atrocious especially because we had a timeout left, we were way too frantic there bringing it up the court and the cross court pass was awful. Plus Goins and Loyer missed big free throws that could have iced the game. Once again way too many turnovers. Also ted Valentine sucks thank god he’s out of the conference.

Ahrens was great yesterday. Team played OK, Louisville just played a little better. The problem was the early turnovers and then the brain farts at the end of the game. Langford cost us the game.

I'm not calling for Ahrens to be benched, it just seems odd for him to have the most minutes by 7+ and for Marcus, who like Davis and JJJ, needs minutes to develop only played for 1. Ahrens averaged 8 minutes/game last year and 19 this year (13.5 before last night) - 41 seems like an outlier. Well, at least he was productive. Kinda tough to be too hard on Goins too - although he contributed nothing on offense, he did grab 17 boards.

Foster Loyer is a division 2 basketball player. How the hell does Izzo find these dwarfs every damn year?? He’s listed at 6 foot. If that kid is taller than 5’8 I would be shocked. Izzo will always struggle against tall guards, which is basically what every team is looking for now. It’s so frustrating to watch MSU

I don?t think he?s over 5?10? either but to say he?s a D2 player is hyperbolic. He was a top 100 recruit, his offers weren?t out of this world but Purdue and OSU were two of them.

I agree in the grand scheme that loss isn't the worst. A true road game against an ok, not great, team after having traveled to/from Las Vegas several days earlier with a starter out injured.

It's the way it happened, after battling back after (another) crappy start and taking the lead and then blowing it when they had chances to put it away.

The way the Big Ten is looking this year, there are going to be losses in conference, especially with a 20 game schedule. So to lose this one out of conference hurts.

Ted Valentine: Did not even realize until afterwards he was working the game. It explained a lot.

yeah, FTs 41 to 23 in L'ville's favor - sounds about right for a Ted Valentine game. Not as bad as some Ed Hightower ratios, but still pretty ridiculous.

I blame Izzo for not managing Wistons minutes in the Louisville game. He was going to play him 40 minutes if he could, he needed to give Loyer a couple of 2 minute stretches prior to tv timeouts to keep winston somewhat rested. He played Winston all game and he made dumb fouls while tired. We blew a bunch of chances in the last few minutes of that game, highly unlikely with cash in there
