He's an Ohio native and former DC from Texas A&M, was on Dantonio's staff at OSU, coached under Tressell, knows the area for recruiting.

I know that our staff isn't as strong without Narduzzi but I think this hire minimizes the impact

He's a great hire IMO, will work with the LBs and DEs, but concentrate on the special teams which were dreadful this year. Also has ties to Florida as well as Texas.

Recruiting Texas is huge, great break through this year to pull in 3 guys in this class from Texas. The state of Texas produces like 70 four star recruits each year, and that number is way way under what it should be. High School Football in Texas is so far beyond what we see in the mid west that there are probably more like 120 recruits that deserve a 4 star ranking. The talent in that state is insane as evidenced by the fact that Texas far and away has the most players from their high schools in the NFL. Bringing in 3-5 Texas kids a year could give us a huge boost of talent.

The 3 kids we have are outstanding. Butler is a 4 star safety, Higby is a beast, and Darrell Stewart was good enough that our coaches told Brian Cole no when he tried to come here a month ago.
