I don't get it.
He quit in Buffalo. His former players universally hate him. He's not a winning coach anywhere. He's the assistant head coach in Jacksonville, and they haven't exactly made leaps and bounds getting better.
Yet the guy has had FOUR interviews as a head coach so far this last week.
Why?
Lovie Smith was a winning coach when he left Chicago. Respected by his players. Respected by his peers. Spent a year out of football before he got called for an interview, and he would have made a hell of a Rooney Rule interview if nothing else.
But Doug fucking Marrone gets four interviews in a week? The world has gone insane.
