Mayhews chance to finally pull the trigger on a trade down!!!! I actually wouldn't want him to this year. I like the list of guys avail at 23....depends on how the board plays out.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could make Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston the first pick in the draft and trade to acquire another first-round pick later Thursday night.

According to a source, the Bucs are talking to multiple teams looking to move out of the late first round in exchange for Tampa Bay's pick in the second round -- No. 34 overall, which is the second pick Friday night.

It is not known what else the Bucs would be required to offer a team to move.

Any trade likely would be made on the clock so Tampa Bay and the other team know which players are available. Pass-rushers Randy Gregory and Shane Ray could fall to the bottom of the first round or lower because of incidents involving marijuana.

The Bucs consider acquiring a pass-rusher a priority in this draft.

I wonder if TB takes Winston at 1 if they play him right away. Probably no choice but TB has many holes on this team and which QB they go with it's going to be a struggle.

The board could play out leaving us in the dust. Having to reach for a OT, or for a lineman that isn't really a starting OT. Or getting the next best DL or CB.

Glennon has potential, I wouldn't rush Winston in year 1.

No doubt, unless he gets suspended by then. The dude has issues but talent is there for sure.

Doesn't Tampa open the season against Tennessee? #1 pick vs. #2 pick in the first game of the season?

Nice.

Anybody else catch the reactions of WR Jason Hunter and WR Kendall Wright after Tennessee picked Mariota? Priceless. Let's just say that the kid is in tough right away in the locker room. Might get interesting....

Video is all over Facebook and probably Youtube.

I know, I'm saying I wouldn't.

I agree. I think Glennon is a pretty good young QB. I wouldn't start Winston day one either, or even year one.

Make the kid earn it, or that sense of entitlement is going to swell.

Winston will start and do well. The question is whether he can stay out of trouble off the field.

QB is not going to fix what's wrong with this team. It's a mistake. Going to get ass kicked..

I did not say that at all. Where you came up with that based on what I posted is beyond me. I am simply saying I believe he will do well at QB and the risk is in his immaturity. The skills are definitely there based on what I have seen.

Don't think anyone doubts his physical tools amigo, but I do question the decision to start him as a rookie.

First, the line in Tampa is piss poor, and he's going to take some hits like he's never seen before. A lot of them.

But second, his maturity is the biggest question. If you gift wrap the starting job for him, it doesn't help him mature at all. He already shows signs of being an "entitled" player in things he did in college.

I say you gotta show him that bench, and make him earn it.

And I'm stating he will not do well because the talent around him is not good. Which is why I quoted you because you said he'll do well. Its pretty easy why I came up with it..

QB's can still do well on bad teams... Bridgewater comes to mind.

Yes they can. First, I think Minny was a better team..and 2nd, well see first ;-). TB needs rookies to contribute quite a bit, the T and G for a couple. Not high on their run game. I just think he'll struggle.

TB has some talent on O. Quite a bit of talent, actually.

I don't think Winston will do well because I don't think he's that good. He's not Jamarcus Russell or Ryan Leaf, but I really don't think he's going to be a successful NFL QB.

His reads are slow. He could extend plays in college but will struggle with it at the NFL level. He's going to take shots with that O-line. He led D1 in INT's on throws over 20 yards last year because of his slow reads and inaccurate deep ball. (Evans and Jackson will help with that).

I guess time will tell. There were tons of negative intangibles with Bridgewater coming out that didn't translate in his rookie year.
