these headlines tell a more accurate story about the Middle East than some of the other cruft posted here:
"Syria-to-Ukraine Wars Send U.S. Defense Stocks to Records"
prior to the recent increases in share prices, there were some silly people concerned that our defense budget & massive subsidies to this industry might be cut, now that doesn't appear to be the case anymore thanks to all the hysteria and presidentially authorized bombing campaigns. What a relief...
or this one:
"Study of ISIS Ammunition Finds 20 Percent of Cartridges Were Manufactured in U.S."
study is based on a sample of all ammunition seized, but the US was the 3rd largest supplier, most of these cartridges were seized by ISIS from Iraqi Army stocks that we gifted to the Iraqis... after we invaded and occupied their country for 6 years.
Arming people to fight other people, that we then have to fight, and then return later to fight other people armed by us seems absurd in context, but if you're like jdilco, and you don't have the mental capacity to see the big picture, I guess not.
