"John Engler's reign of terror is over," said board member Brian Mosallam, who has been pushing for Engler's departure for nearly a year. "Michigan State University will be returned to its people."
Mosallam should add an apology for being one of the votes to bring Engler on, as this result should've been obvious to everyone who has a brain and lived in the State of Michigan in the mid-90's.

At least (some of) the MSU trustees learned their lesson. eventually.

better late than never.

This can be the "laugh at MSU" thread for now.

Turns out when Perles resigned from MSU recently, they forgave a $200,000 debt he still owed to the University on a formal pledge (they actually have a signed agreement) he never fulfilled on. What a Gomer.

Engler, Perles, Simon... I doubt all of them could competently run a bowling alley, let alone a major university.

Well, they didn't fire him. They asked him to resign. Then he said that he would resign in a week, but the board did the right thing and told him that his resignation was effective immediately.

He still got paid well and he wrote 11 pages about how wonderful of a job he did...

He sure enjoyed his time in the limelight.
