Micajah Reynolds is making the most noise so far. Measured out at 6-5, 327 lbs and did 32 reps and had a 29" vertical.

Ellsworth also having a nice day, put up 29 reps and had a 34" vertical, weighed in at 236 lbs.

Dennard had a 36" vertical and borad jumped 134" which would have been the best art the NFL combine.

Tyler Hoover put up 27 reps at 6-7" and 286 lbs.

Our kickerKevin Muma did 14 reps.

Denicos was 225 lbs and did 26 reps. Only a 29" vertical though.

Isn't Muma a freshman?

Muma is a senior, handled the kickoffs this year, but was barely beaten out by the freshman to be the placekicker.

Reynolds ran a 4.9 forty. If his agility was decent, he is getting drafted. The kid really got screwed not getting invited to the combine. He would have been one of the talks of combine weekend and might have been a 3rd or 4th round pick, noe he'll be 6th or 7th.

How many 6-5, 327 lb DTs can put up 32 reps and run a 4.9 forty?

Bennie Fowler was told that he ran between a 4.27 and a 4.35 hand timed today. He was very disappointed in his 4.5 forty at the combine, he had been training evry day with Sammie Watkins and was reportedly beating Watkins in the forty as often as he was getting beat by him.

Doubt he has 4.3 speed, but 4.4 seems right.

Anything about D. Allen? He is probably my favorite recent Spartan. He was a ball hawk and great at blitzing.

Did not hear a 40 time for Denicos. He's been one of my all time favorite Spartans, just doesn't have an NFL body though. Not too many 5-11, 225lb pass rushing LBs in the NFL. I don't see him getting drafted, Hopefully he has a chance to make a team as an UFA.

FWIW, 3 different NFL scouts timed Fowler at 4.27 in the forty and all 31 teams had him below 4.4. There's a very good chance he ran in the 4.3s yesterday which is surprising to me. He also ran with no shirt on and is a total beast. I think he gets drafted now.

Here's what I predict:
Dennard round 1
Max round 3-5
Lewis round 5-7
Fowler round 4-7
Reynolds round 6-UFA
Treadwell 7-UFa
Fonoti UFA
Denicos UFA
Hoover UFA
Maxwell UFA (yes, some team will give hm a look because of his cannon for an arm)

We have a chance to get 6 players drafted, think 4 at least, probably 5 most likely. Would be surprised if 5+ guys of these don't make an NFL roster. We're churning out NFL players at a rate 2nd to only Ohio State in the B1G.

Thanks, I think you are right about him not getting drafted. I think if he gets a chance he will make a team. He might be a journey man for a while but I think what he lacks in size he makes up for it in everything else.

This just showed up on my Spartans facebook page about Allen.

Cool article, Mike Tomlin certainly thinks Denicos can play in the NFL. Would love to see it.

There were 50 NFL scouts from 31 NFL teams at our pro day (Jets scouts didn't show). Wasn't that long ago that we'd have a pro day and about 15-20 scouts would show up. The scouts have been raving about how MD runs his team like a professional team and all of his players are prepared for the NFL mentally. The last piece is to start getting some 1st rounders and we have that this year with Dennard and in the future with a few potential round 1 guys still with the team.

I really see NFL talent all over the field on both sides of the ball for Michigan State. I think we'll again field a defense with 6-7 future NFL players on it in 2014 and also an offense with several NFL players lining up every down. The talent level seems to keep going up.

The last few graduating classes have averaged over 5 guys making an NFL roster. That's hard to do and not a lot of college teams do that. That basically means at any given time you have 20+ future NFL players on your team. The results on the field are not only because of good coaching and player development, they're because of great talent.

it seems like he'd be a good special teams player for a while
