Great news and this kid is talented. We really needed the depth. Look for Williams to play both DT spots as a backup. Nebraska runs the same D line scheme as we do so its the perfect fit. I think Raquan Williams starts next McDowell, and Kevin Williams and Enoch Smith Jr are the first guys rotating in. Gerald Owens, Cassius Peat, Kyonta Stallworth and one of the freshman round out the depth. Williams is probably a shade better than Damon Knox, a little less size, but a more explosive and talented player.

We may be looking to add someone else as a grad transfer at the D line too.

This is great news and if 100% healthy we're getting a DT who could start on most Big Ten teams. He was stuck behind two top half of the NFL draft DTs in Nebraska last season and still was a force who makes plays.

Look for true freshman Naquan Jones to play and make a difference. He's my pick to vastly out play his recruiting ranking even though he was a high 4 star in some places. His film and athleticism was excellent, but his weight listing was way off, he got ranked as a 275 lb player with great quickness for someone his size, well he played at 325 his senior year, he has an elite skill set for someone over 300 lbs. Should have been a top 50 player.

smart kid, has a bachelors and one masters already, pursuing his second masters at MSU

We beat Bama and Texas A&M among others for Williams. As was pointed out, he has a Masters in Construction Engineering and management already. Smart kid with a lot of talent.

If he's healthy he's an upgrade over know, big if though. He's been productive in the limited time he's been able to play.

Knox being healthy was just as big of an if, he was applying for a 6th year too.
