Izzo was quoted as saying that Alvin Ellis was questionable and if he did play he would be severely limited, at least that makes me think it won't be a longer term injury. We're down two players at the 3 spot but the 3 and 2 are interchangeable with Izzo so we have Valentine and Forbes at those two spots, maybe Trice slides over when Tum comes in the game and plays off the ball. Dawson can't really play the 3, he's out of place there.

realistically I don't think we win this game with Bess and Ellis so the injury won't cost us a game and we should be close to 100% for the ACC/B1G. Hopefully we can at least make it to final of the Old Spice classic and get to play Kansas.

A big lineup of Dawson, Costello, Schilling could get some things done defensively. Offensively, not so much.

that would be askign Costello and Schilling to play a ton of minutes and Dawson would have no idea where to be on defense. I wouldn't mind that lineup if we still had Gauna and Kaminsky and we'd been practicing with those guys in those spots all summer. it's too hard to just plug someone in at the 3 or 4 if they don't play there often

Give me Duke by 15-20. I love the Champions Classic but Duke is on another level than we are this year. Maybe by March we could put forth a fight in this game but not at this point in time.

Everyone is so down on this team after one game. You guys realize Valentine had one of his worst games ever right? No way we lose by double digits, I actually think we come out and get a win.

I know Valentine had a career worst game which killed us, but Navy just lost to ND by 40 points. Sorry but I will be flat out shocked if we somehow won against Duke.

I forgot this is the same great Duke team that lost to mercer in the first round. They lost a ton of talent and added some good freshmen. I'm not impressed sorry.

Duke opens as a 6.5 pt favorite

I like the under - 144.5. We don't have much inside scoring presence and no healthy shooting guards. Only problem is Duke could score in the mid to high 80s.

I cant stomach totals, I only like them if there is a high over and then a storm starts before the football game etc.

The under would be the play though Id agree. Id have set it at 136-137

I like totals but I like unders a lot less than overs. Always more fun to find a game you don't care about but like the over and just cheer for points. Poor free throw shooting down the stretch can be frustrating for sure though.

I didn't know Battier got hired by ESPN this offseason. Great, because we needed more Duke/ACC blowhards on ESPN; Bilas, Vitale, Jay Williams, Seth Greenberg weren't enough I guess.
