Wow his pitt team knocks off number 2 Clemson in Death Valley. It's a shame Pitt doesn't have a stadium on campus. I really think they could be a good program again. Is there any plans of building one?
I really hope Narduzzi doesn't get snatched up by a big school before dantonio retires.

That was my thought as well. Timing is everything sometimes.

The way you guys feel about Narduzzi is the way Buckeye fans feel about Dantonio. We love the guy despite the fact that he's been Meyer's kryptonite.

Yeah it seems like a lot of OSU fans really do like Dantonio. I think it's a little different in that OSU isn't hoping that Dantonio will take over some day, I think a majority of MSU fans are hopeful that Narduzzi will find his way back here when Dantonio retires. The way that it is looking now, Narduzzi will be hired by a bigger program before that happens.

Crazy how horrible his defense is

I think offenses have figured this defense out and it's not flexible enough to adjust. The D gets exposed when they lineup their best WR in the slot where he will be covered by a safety. And you can attack the edge if the corners can't get off blocks. Of course we have no pass rush at MSU this season so that makes it even worse.

At this point there is no plan to build a stadium on campus. No place to put it really as the Pete now exists where Pitt Stadium once stood. As a guy who was there for the last game at Pitt Stadium (and the last trek up Cardiac Hill), which was an upset victory over Notre Dame (still have the turf I tore up too), I'd love for a stadium to be back in Oakland. It'd be better for the students, better for the businesses around campus, but, in addition to not having room, "they" feel it's a better recruiting tool to have the kids play in an NFL facility.

That's ludicrous if they honestly believe the college kids would rather play in an NFL stadium. You can never recreate a college football atmosphere in a stadium that's not on campus. I think that's another reason Miami will never be a great team again, they are in the same situation. It just seems foolish to me that you wouldn't want a stadium on campus. Are the Pitt fans happy with Narduzzi? I think they had a stronger season last year than this year.

I'm not sure I'd put him at the top of my succession list. I haven't given it much thought but I'd like to see him have a little more success as a head coach before he becomes a short lister. He may have to make another move first - to a louisville or something like that maybe.

I think most of us alums are beyond happy with him. For all the obvious reasons we're surprised that the offense is ahead of the defense at this point. This team should easily have two more wins if it wasn't for shit pass d. Between beating Penn State and Clemson this year, I think most would consider this season on par or better than last year. Of course two more wins and a bowl win would solidify that.

Out of curiosity, if Nardz were to have Pitt become a perennial contender for the ACC title, why would a move to Louisville, a team that Pitt owns the series record against including winning five of the last six, and being in the same conference, sway your opinion?

Hopefully with his ties to Youngstown, he'll make Pitt a permanent home.

Series records are meaningless and even if they're not, being 8-9 against Pitt doesn't indicate any kind of dominance. I don't think Pitt becomes a perennial contender. And it doesn't have to be Louisville I just used them as an example of a higher profile institution. Louisville has made a determination to heavily emphasize sports, they've gotten a lot of Nike, YUM and Papa Johns money poured into facilities and branding. I think of them as high second tier program - higher profile than Pitt but not a tier 1 program. I feel if he goes tier 1 but not elite, like Miami, Baylor, etc it will likely be too late for us.

Who would want to touch Baylor right now? Seriously? That place needs to go away.
ACC is weak, I think Pitt could be a dark horse team every year. Other than Clemson and FSU there has been no other team that has proven they can win year in and year out.

Somebody will go there - they have a brand new stadium, alumni and administration that care about sports (probably too much), resources. Nike probably doesn't care about the problems - they have cover now that Baylor "cleaned house" even if Briles was just a sacrificial lamb...
