Need a substitute for itunes

Hey all,

I'm looking for a more stable way to store & play all my shitty music.

I re-installed itunes on my new laptop, but have all sorts of problems with it, from generally crappy performance, to having to randomly re-authorize it (re-enter my apple ID & password & a texted authorization code) for no fucking reason.

I want to find something less dependent on the whims and greediness of apple.

Anyone use anything else?

I used to use winamp in college, but they don't have a player available right now because of changes in ownership.

There are places you can find older winamp versions.

I heard MediaMonkey is decent, but I wasn't a fan.

I used to put so much work into my mp3 collection and playlists. Modern tech has crushed the amount of music I listen to and the effort I put into it. If I'm out of the house, I just listen to google play channels, and even that, only occasionally.

Winamp. It really whips the llama's ass.
