Anybody else get the feeling that Ngata is using this as a "get healthy" year before heading back to the Ravens?

Detroit was probably one of the last places he wanted to go but he had no choice in the matter.

I doubt that, Detroit is probably the only place that would agree to no future contract in place in the trade, so basically the Ravens loaned him to us for a year. They knew we were desperate for a dt

Of course. Not that the 3-4 to a 4-3 wasn't worrisome for some of us when the trade happened. You just son't play one system for 10 years and expect to dominate when switched to another. Fortunately Mayhew is smarter than LKP, who wanted to sign him to an extension before the season started.

Ngata didn't get a training camp and missed some OTAs. However, Ngata is playing well. He has just missed the last 2 games and some of the Seattle game.

Terrible luck with injuries and injury recoveries (Bell, Tulloch, Waddle). Ngata, Levy, Walker. Now Jones and Ihedigbo too.

Plus 18 turnovers is killing the defense. That is a 48 season turnover pace.

Pass rush is there. Ansah still a beast.

Ngata is playing well. Good pass rush grade. Run D good too. He's just hurt.

And they have negotiated with him.
