Honestly, my first thought was, "Who the fuck is Nicholson?" Then, I looked it up and saw his full name and it clicked. I hate when you lose kids early and you know they're leaving a year too soon. We lost Willie Henry last year and nobody can convince me that he didn't make a huge mistake.

LSJ says CBS had him as 4th ranked 2018 safety, but you guys don't think he'll be drafted in 2017?

He was out a few games this year. He had 1 int and it seemed he was 10 yards off his receiver on every attempt going his way. I just dont see him as NFL material at any point. I dont blame him for wanting to leave but man, he is Euro league at best.

Once he stopped shying away from contact I actually started to like him. He turned into a pretty solid tackler the last year and a half. I blame the coverage issues more on our lack of QB pressure and our horrible CB play this year. I think there's a place for him in the NFL. Shit, just look at the Lions DB depth.

That being said, I'm still surprised he's leaving. Have to wait and see if there was something with his status on the team.

Maybe he's flunking out or possibly got threatened with being kicked off the team but I doubt it. I think it's the writing on the wall - whether it is or not, that's probably the way a lot of kids see it. Things can't get much worse but there's no indication they're going to turn around quickly either and with guys like McDowell leaving early and no returning stars except maybe Scott, it looks like it's time to go before their stock get's hurt by another bad season.
