Presumably this does not include the Denver metro area or other areas like Colorado Springs?

I wonder if the amount of tax revenue compared with the amount of public works needs are being discussed at all. One would think that might put an immediate stop to things.

it's irritating to here these freaks whine about being disenfranchised, when a quick look at the electoral map shows that due to widespread jerrymandering, rural folks are way over-represented in Congress anyway... but I guess that's why a goofy, sour grapes proposal like this is even getting any momentum.

NE Colo is a rural wasteland and typically regarded as west Nebraska anyways. Funny thing is I keep seeing this topic on national news websites but have yet to hear anything from local sources and until this thread and article, didn't even know which counties were involved.

So Colorado's "disenfranchised" reside in the slaughterhouse and oil/gas area of the state. Greeley in Weld Co was featured in Fast Food Nation for the brutal labor conditions in the slaughterhouses, poor conditions and dirty work.

I could care less and think it's funny that a state with a huge transplant population and diverse political and socioeconomic base, has "disenfranchised" people in the least significant and most ignored parts.
