Not that it means much, but... the Tigers are 11-1 so far this spring. That's the best record in ST baseball by a good margin. The A's and Jays are next best at 12-4 right now.

Let's hope the good fortune and offensive power continues all season!

Another good sign is the run differential... +56 before today's game. #2 in RS and #2 in RA. By far the best in ST. Not too shabby!

This, although obviously some of both were the result of production by Tigers players who won't be making the 25-man roster, vs pitchers/batters of the opposition, many who also won't make it past their teams' cuts, as well as vs a comparative handful of MLB teams, more than half who they haven't and won't face at all during this year's ST.

The guys coming north have played a big part in this too. Fielder, Raburn and Young have been hitting really well. The regular SPs have looked good so far, as have the bevy of relievers. I know it really doesn't mean much since it's ST, but it'd be great to see this carry over into the season and for the team to get off to a good start.

In the past I have said I think DY will have a career year. He has a ton of natural ability and it is a contract year. If DY does what I expect (.290-.310 with 25-30 HR) and Raburn can play the entire year like he does in the second 1/2 the Tigers will run away with the AL Central.

Get ready for some long innings with those two in the field.
