2008 results mapped in a variety of ways
Area scaled to population/electoral votes
Votes by county
Red/Blue and Red/Blue/Purple

This is the map I like to compare to population density maps:

clearly uneducated white hicks love the GOP.

whereas relatively better educated, urban dwellers vote democratic, as well as any counties that are >50% black or hispanic.

Don't those people know that cutting taxes for Romney and his bros is going to be GOOD for them?

most of the people I meet and interact with in Chicago are more intelligent than the people I've interacted with in rural areas, or even the suburbs of Detroit where I'm from. maybe something else is going on here, than what you are saying.

How are you gauging their intelligence?

Do they have to show their college transcripts, or carry a current copy of a standardized IQ test results, a Mensa membership card?

I know a lot of people who simply think others are stupid/less intelligent because they have different viewpoints or beliefs.

Umm....those voices in your head? They might not be indicative of highly intelligent liberals. But the good news is that getting help to take care of your mental health isn't stigmatized like it used to be.
