Pitta just signed 5yr...$32m..yikes.see ya pettigrew
if youre looking at similiar money

I will be shocked if Pettigrew doesn't receive a similar/better offer from another team. Graham is tagged and Pitta is signed. It's Pettigrew/Finley/Graham and everyone else at this point.

Bye. I could care less. Drops the ball way too much. Good blocker but we can find depth through draft.

I'm sick of "mercurial" players. He can go for all I care.

Don't let the door hit ya on the ass on the way out!! I'm through....

The Oakland Press suggests the Lions could offer Brandon Pettigrew a deal similar to Dennis Pitta's five-year, $32 million contract.

PFF said he was second most overpaid player on the lions. Second only to Burleson.

Why?

An undrafted rookie FA outplayed him for a good part of the year. Nothing about that sentence says "throw money at Pettigrew".

I was kinda hoping for a pitta/Caldwell reunion. guess he was one guy that wasn't really jumping for joy to join his old cord.

Pettigrew has his strengths and weaknesses... biggest weakness is inconsistent hands. Biggest strengths are his blocking and his ability to find the open spot in coverage (there's a reason he get's targeted so much when healthy).

Honestly, I don't think he is that much better than who we already have... but he is better, and we already have a series of gaping holes to fill at WR behind CJ. That said, no way do we pay him that kind of money, so add TE as a need in the draft unless Caldwell can convince Clark (or someone else with receiving skills) to come cheap.
