Pistons send out Rodney McGruder and a 2022 2nd rounder from Brooklyn.

This is a very low risk move on both sides, and expectations should be equally low. Bol Bol has a ton of talent, but he's very very raw. He's also a RFA this summer, so he may not be on the team for long. There are some really juicy highlights out there for Bol, but please be aware that's not who anyone should expect to see night to night.

My guess is this is mostly about getting different looks for Cade. Bol is super long and decently athletic. He could be a legitimate lob threat, which we otherwise don't have. If he can show something in the last half of the season, maybe he's worth further developing on a small contract.

talk about a project. He has only played 9 games in college and a total of 328 minutes in 2.5 seasons in the NBA.

That said, watching his little highlight reel on ESPN, he looks decent. He can handle the ball, has passing ability and moves pretty well for a 7'2" twig

Low risk, decent reward type move. Get a look at a young big (or just tall?) to see if it works out. Apparently has some work ethic/attitude issues, which may or may not be related to playing time. If he can?t earn playing time here, there?s not much hope for him.

His highlights were entertaining though, passing over guys, seems to move well, his shooting motion is a joy to watch.
