Power Rankings: You know you care.

I'd put the ravens above us as of current production. Their d is playing lights out and we are underachieving our potential in terms of spotty performance.

They put the ravens ahead of us in the nfl.com rankings. We were still at 4 but the ravens were #3

Still a little high for me. They are young and have a really high ceiling but they are also capable of looking terrible like the 1st half in the last 2 games. If they play for 4 quarters they will be very difficult to beat.

I personally think 4 is too high as a Lions fan. I am appreciative of all of the media coverage that Detroit is getting this year but I believe they still have a lot to prove. I definitely believe they deserve to be top 6 or 7 though as they have got the all important wins so far. There is still a lot of season to play and if Detroit can find some consistency with their play they could very well be worthy of a #4 ranking.

They have consistently won, and are 1 of 2 teams that are undefeated...

So who do you put ahead of them 1-5,6?

Just to note. While the team has looked paltry the fist half of the last two games, they were fantastic in both second halves. Both haves are equally important. Further, when we look at a game we played well from start to finish, we beat the Chiefs (who subsequently beat the Vikings) 48-3. Even in Tampa, the 27-20 score would be misleading since we dominated almost the entire the game. The only real offense Tampa generated was against our soft zone as we tried to run out the clock.

I'm not saying we are world beaters, but at our best we are as good as anyone. And consistency is something all young teams must work through.

I cannot argue the fact that they are one of two undeafeated teams. It feels great. The teams that I definitely place above them would be GB, NE, NO, BAL and HOU. I believe those are the powerhouse teams that do not really have big flaws outside of the NE defense but their offensive power is insane.

It may be a pretty bold statement but Tennessee is looking pretty scary as well...If only Britt would not have gone down I would put them about even with Detroit. CJ should pick up his production as the season goes on. SD will always be dangerous but they always seem to find a way to "Plaxico" themselves.

But I would put them at #6 looking after the 5 teams that I first mentioned. I would like to see consistent play for 4 quarters before bumping them above any of those teams.

I mentioned it already, but the one game we played consistently we had the biggest blowout of the season. KC isn't good, but that kind of victory isn't just luck.

Further, who has Houston beaten of note? The banged up 2-2 Steelers? I think they are a good team, but the fact is they just lost Johnson and haven't proven more than the Lions. You could honestly say the same about Baltimore. Their offense struggles against anyone with a decent defense. As good as their defense is, that team isn't going to be so dominant if their opponent takes care of the ball (just as Tennessee).

Even without Johnson for a few weeks I believe that HOU is a scary all around team. Wade Phillips has made their defense legit and their offense should still have no problems putting up points even without AJ. Foster is healthy again and Owen Daniels is healthy unlike last year. Jacoby Jones played well in AJ's absence last year as well. Still a very dangerous team. I put Baltimore a cut above because their offense is still very solid. Boldin is in the second year with the team. Dickerson has been playing pretty well at TE. The offense still revolves around Ray Rice but it is Ray Rice. The guy is a monster. Their defense is still very solid. I like Baltimore a lot this year even though Kenny Britt chewed them up.

The Lions played 4 quarters of ball against KC. You are right about that. The way they have come out the past two weeks scares me a bit. Not a whole lot as I believe they were two seperate issues and not the same problem both weeks. But I just feel that #4 is a bit too high. I do believe that Detroit has the firepower to hang in games with any team in the league including those that I have listed above them though. I just think that it is a little too early to put them at #4 when the play has been inconsistant.

I can never see Houston as a powerhouse. If it wasn't for no Peyton, they'd still be sucking 3rd place.

I am not so certain that even with Peyton playing for the Colts this year that HOU would not unseat them this year. HOU is just oozing with talent and solid coaching. I think Houston is an incredibly dangerous team! I only put them one spot above us though in my rankings and they can surely be overtaken with some Detroit consistency. Can't help but think that they are very real right now though and should only be better next year as well.

They're always oozing with talent yet come January they're sitting at all.

I cannot argue that statement because Houston has been on the edge of the playoff push for a long time now and every year there is a let down...I just think they are legit this year and their only threat in the division is Tennessee now with Manning out. I think HOU is serious this year. Just opinions though. Sticking to my statement right now until Detroit plays with some more consistency. They can hang with any team like I previously said. Just want to see that consistency for 4 quarters.

Not worried about where they rank but Indy always wins that division. Houston has a better chance to get in because one spot is now open.

I think that Indy has been on the downhill slide for a little while now and Peyton is just one of those extremely rare talents that made that whole team that much better. I hope that he can continue to play beyond this season but I am not sure Indy will be able to get to another superbowl with him or not to be honest. There are a lot of older guys on that roster.

SB maybe not but he creates win himself. Could depend on who they draft one or what they trade the pick for. Yes I think they get the top pick :) . The defense was good enough to win the past two weeks but offense was terrible.

I believe they will have the top pick as well...I do not see them trading it even with Manning healthy they will most likely draft Luck and let Peyton mentor him. Peyton definitely gets those wins and it is all due to him. He puts the ball in the perfect place and makes undrafted WRs look like gods on the football field. The only other QB to elevate his WRs like that lately was Rivers last year and definitely not on the Peyton Manning level but still impressive.
