Dempsey, 1970 Saints v Lions sets record 63 yard FG mark, tied many times but not broken until today.

Although Dempsey's kick was made straight on non-soccer style, so I guess that aspect he will hold forever as everyone from here out will be soccer-style kickers.

I saw the kick yesterday in person ...and saw Elam do it and Janikowski as well.

Dempsey in a Dome and the others at Mile Hi ...

And at -5 degrees, Prater was basically kicking a cinder block.

Actually Dempsey's was outside at Tulane Stadium. Elam did it at Denver, Akers was at Lambeau.

wtf..u just so happened to be at all of those games? weird....

Right, I guess Dempsey was outside ...as were the three I saw, as a Broncos ticketholder. Saw Elam (much like Prater, it was going into halftime) and Janikowski and then Prater on Sunday.

Forgot about Akers also tying the mark.

I guess that helps dispell the haters claiming kicking at altitude in 5-degree weather was easy. Prater himself said good from 70yds under 'normal conditions' regarding air temp, etc.
