Looks like we signed Jean-Baptiste (former 2014 2nd round pick by Saints) and Peacock

Ironic that we pick up someone else's 2nd round failure.

Jean-Baptiste was a player a lot of use really wanted in the draft just a couple of years ago. He's got the physical tools to be a dominant corner, but was raw as could be and never seemed to catch on.

I thought he would have been a great 3rd round option for us, but the Saints snagged him in the 2nd, and clearly he's been a wasted pick.

I can't say I'm enthusiastic about signing the guy, even to the practice squad. Clearly those of us, like me, who were drooling over this guy were wrong as could be, as were a lot of NFL coaches and scouts. But, the idea of giving him some time to work with Austin and see what he can do... well... he's still 6'3 and has speed.

Maybe he can be coached?

Didn't he play safety at the JuCo level? And then convert to WR? At then to CB? Or something like that?

On one hand, I think it's too early to give up on a second round pick after just one season. On the other hand, a damned good coach tossed away a 2nd round pick after just one season.. so that says a lot too.
