I was just looking at Qb stats and was surprised by a couple things. Rivers and Freeman who are both media darlings are quietly not playing well. Stafford who everyone keeps questioning is among top five in all important categories. (however we all agree he needs more consistency) Also Aaron Rodgers has surpassed everyone else and is the guy at qb. Brady and Brees have both had some uncharacteristically shaky games. The biggest thing in the world of Qbs right now is how well the rookies are playing. Newton, Dalton, Gabbert and Ponder all look like they could be solid starters. Not bad for one draft class.

Gabbert... Not so much but I'd say your pretty much spot on else where. For someone who has 19 TD's to only 4 pics you sure don't hear alot about Stafford.

Yeah. Gabbert, I don't think so. Still unsure about Ponder but I like the redheaded dude and Cam is putting up numbers.

Gabbert hasnt put up great numbers but that team has no playmakers.

Then why did you mention him? What are you seeing?

Gabbert and Ponder get incompletes for me. No way of really telling how good they are. They look a lot more stable than a guy like Tebow though. At least they can stand in the pocket and try to deliver a ball. Dalton looks like he has potential to have some staying power and Cam looks like the real deal holyfield. Gabbert n Ponder have no weapons other than exceptional runningbacks.

Gabbert looks like an NFL quarterback to me. He is playing like a typical rookie qb but one with future upside. He takes some ill advised chances but some have paid off. Also you have to look at the team around him. They arent any worse then they were with Garrard who was a pretty good qb. If they can get him a few weapons and he can start picking up the speed of the NFL game he could be a decent qb.

It takes a couple years to evaluate QBs either way. I thought Vince Young was the man too.

I think TO above said it best, incomplete for Gabbert and Ponder.

Jacksonville has a new OC , new WR coach and a 1st year QB.

Gabberts gonna get at least a 3 year leash down their.

"They're my quarterbacks.........(tear)...they're my teammates.......it's unfair (to grade them right now.)"

IMHO, I think Staffords injury history has everything to do with his lack of media attention. I think he will get alot more attention if he is still healthy late in the season. I dont mind Stafford not getting a ton of media attention...at all.

Hoge listed cam newton as #5 on his top 5 qb list today...stafford didnt make the list. Daltons deep throw to green this week was impressive.

At this point there are about 10 guys fighting for that #4/5 spot.

Top 3 are Rodgers, Brady n Brees...after that who knows. No one is on the top 3's level though.

Cant stand Vick...but when that dude is on , it's lights out...and Big Ben has had a couple of good weeks in a row.

I feel the same waqy but both have been pretty damn inconsistent week to week. Vick hasn't been very good since about half way through last season.
