We've already noted that the Detroit Lions are planning to host free agent running back Reggie Bush and defensive lineman Jason Jones. In the hustle and bustle of free agency, let's add one more potential target: Houston Texans safety Glover Quin.

Nothing is official, but when the dust settles, I wouldn't be surprised if Quin ends up in deep negotiations and/or visiting the Lions. He plays a position of significant need, given Louis Delmas' entrance into the market and Amari Spievey's health history, and Quin has been nothing if not reliable in his career.

In four seasons with the Texans, Quin has missed one game -- in his 2009 rookie season. He tied a career high with 14 pass breakups last season and also had two interceptions.

Again the free agent market is always fluid, but I'm going to keep an eye on Quin's potential as another Lions target.

Lions very interested RT: @RapSheet: Glover Quin is visiting the #Lions, I'm told. He's the only safety visiting Detroit.

This would be a huge get. I really like him and all he can do. they just said on NFL Network he is in the airport waiting for his flight.

Quin would be a nice signing....losing both Delmas and Houston could be crippling though

Replacing Delmas and Houston with Quin and ??? is AT BEST a wash and more likely a step back. We need to get BETTER in the secondary.....not worse.

Quinn is an upgrade over Delmas if for nothing else than the fact that he produces while staying on the field. Only 1 missed game in the last four years. However if we lose Houston that will hurt if we can't find a decent replacement.

Delmas wont be that hard to replace seeing he was hardly ever on the field. He never played a full season. He did play in 15 games his first 2 years but every year after that the numbers of games he has played in has gone down. He only played in 8 games last year and several of those he didnt play a full game. Losing Houston is huge and I really hope we can add a proven vet at CB if we do lose him.

When do I get to pay Reggie Bush more than a starting cb? My popcorn's getting cold.

Glover Quin - DB - Texans NFL.com reports free agent S Glover Quin is seeking roughly $5 million per season.
It's affordable, and in line with what we expected. Quin is visiting the Lions, but could still end up back in Houston. He'd be a strong add for the DB-needy Lions, and tough loss for the Texans. Related: Lions

I hope we can get him and resign Houston. Add a CB within first 2 rounds of draft, and the secondary gets much better.

Now somehow Houston will sign elsewhere, Quin decides he doesn't want to play here and Milner is gone before we pick. The trifecta of crap.

Every one of those things could happen.

Hoping for the best though.

Stop killin my buzz.....

Quin got to the facility today. Was there the same time as Bush.
