Best:
Lions president Tom Lewand says Jahvid Best (concussions) is "on pace" to be ready for the team's offseason program.
Lewand made the comments in a Tuesday conference call with season-ticket holders. It's the first update on Best's status since MLive.com reported in late January "many within the (Lions') organization" were concerned Best might not ever play again. Earlier on Tuesday, the Detroit Free Press reported Best's status "remains uncertain." He remains a risky hold for players in dynasty leagues.

Leshoure:
Lions RB Mikel Leshoure (Achilles surgery) is in the "final stages" of his rehab.
Leshoure is doing resistance work and "light running," and is tentatively expected to have at least some form of participation in OTAs. Barring a setback, it appears he will be ready for the beginning of training camp.

Great news about Leshoure. As for Best, he could be 100% cleared right now and I'd still be just as worried... Dude is one bad hit away from being out of the league for good.

It remains to be seen what the Lions will do obviously, but I'd be looking for another RB. How much can they honestly rely on either of these being able to play next year, regardless of how well they are progressing? Yes, same could be said for any player(s), but I can't think of any reason to not try and get at least a middle talent guy in FA or draft, even with Kevin Smith.
