Looks like he is on the way to Tampa to take a physical. Sounds like its almost a done deal. He will need a new deal which I bet will be huge. The deal could be for a 1st, 3rd this year and a conditional mid round next year.

Cant blame the Jets Revis reportedly wants Calvin money and he is in the last year of his deal and they cant franchise him. And they are gonna suck no matter what they do so why not trade him and get something.

The return of Buccaneer fans lol. Florida will still always love their dolphins over the other two but I love me some bandwagon fans.

I wonder if this may be the type of decision we have to make on Suh.

Revis was in a better position financially for the Jets. They weren't restructuring his deal every year because he was taken #2 overall. We may never have the luxury of letting Suh get to the end (or near end) of his contract because of the ridiculous cap hit it would entail.

Yahoo says they have a new contract in place paying him 15-16 mil a year. That is crazy money for a CB.

Done deal. 13th pick and a conditional 3rd next year. Extended to the tune of $96 mil. No guaranteed though.

No guaranteed money is huge for Tampa. Revis is worth the money if he stays healthy, but the fact they can cut him at any time really helps their cap situation. Keep in mind, he'll be 28 by next season, and his athleticism is going to start diminishing in his early 30s. He's signed for 6 years if he stays effective, but now Tampa can cut him the moment he loses a step (making this more likely to be a 4 year contract).

Even if he's still effective, Tampa can turn around and trade Revis without penalty or cut him if they just really need the cap space. For the 13th pick and a 3rd rounder, this was a great move for Tampa.

The question is what do the Jets do now. Two relatively high picks (9 and 13), and a bunch of needs (including quarterback). This is a bad year to need a QB, and there aren't any skill positions worthy of the 9th or 13th picks, imo. I would guess they look for pass-rush and an O-lineman.

That is a ton of money for a CB. The fact that there is none guaranteed is very odd to me but OK. I am actually shocked the Jets didnt get more in return.

No guarantee is good for Tampa. Makes it a much better deal. Revis goes to a better team but I don't see him in the playoffs anytime soon regardless..

The bad part is you know if/when he has a great year he will hold out. I will be shocked if he doesnt before next year.
