I guess Rick Perry hasn't been paying attention to the presidential campaign now that he's out of it; apparently he was unaware Romney won't release his tax returns from more than 1 year ago when he made this statement:
"No matter who you are or what office you are running for, you should be as transparent as you can be with your tax returns and other aspects of your life so that people have the appropriate ability to judge your background," Perry said to CBS News Austin affiliate KEYE-TV.
BUT... apparently, he meant president obama...
An aide later said Perry wasn't specifically calling on Romney to release more returns. Perry, ... turned the subject around to President Obama, joining the chorus of (mostly Republican) voices calling on him to release his college transcripts.

"I certainly think it is inappropriate for the president of the United States to not keep his college transcript and his law school transcripts public. He should make those available," he said. "I'm all about transparency."
Link. Grades did not matter in 2000, when the George W. Bush was running for president, but apparently... now they do?

Anyways, I'm guessing Romney is keeping his tax returns secret not because he made a lot of money, (although that's probably true), but more so because it would be much more shocking to people to see how little taxes he paid, thanks to all his offshore accounts in tax havens.

I believe he paid $6 Million in taxes on the one he released........he supported 6,000 families with $1,000/yr of food stamps......He paid his fair share

Since when is America about 'fair share'? That sounds like socialism you commie bastard.

And Romney is probably less worried about voter reaction to his tax returns if he released them, as he is that someone would put 2 and 2 together and come up with an indictment on tax evasion charges.

BTW, tax evasion is not filing....IRS apparently gives him a clean record for all years

? First HHS Secretary nominee and former Democratic Sen. Tom Daschle of South Dakota who filed over $140,000 in back taxes and interest in January after failing to disclose more than $300,000 in income, including the use of a car and driver. His violations of the tax code remain the most impressive and lead to his removing his name for consideration.

? Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner failed to pay more than $40,000 in payroll taxes when he worked for the International Monetary Fund, correcting the error before the Senate voted on his nomination.

? The husband of Labor Secretary Hilda Solis paid around $6,400 prior to her nomination vote for tax liens on his Los Angeles auto repair business dating from 1993. The White House said Ms. Solis and her husband were unaware of the lien.

? Chief Performance Officer nominee Nancy Killefer withdrew her nomination in the wake of the Daschle tax disclosures after it came to light that she had a $947 tax lien filed against her by the District of Columbia in 2005 for failing to pay compensation taxes for a domestic employee. District records show she owed $298 in unemployment compensation, $48.69 in interest, and $600.00 in penalties that she paid five months later.

The current HHS had to pay almost $8,000 in back taxes and penalties to get confirmed

Libs, want higher taxes...just dont want to pay them, LOL

No, Tax evasion is also improper or false filing nitwit.

"Tax evasion is the general term for efforts by individuals, corporations, trusts and other entities to evade taxes by illegal means. Tax evasion usually entails taxpayers deliberately misrepresenting or concealing the true state of their affairs to the tax authorities to reduce their tax liability, and includes, in particular, dishonest tax reporting (such as declaring less income, profits or gains than actually earned; or overstating deductions).".

Oh, because you say so?

Well if he's so honest, just release the damn documents and be done with it. A person with nothing to hide, hides nothing.

Sure.

Lets see it all, what the fuck are you trying to argue? You're just deflecting from Romney.

Romney's or anyones tax returns are irrelevant

Then why do you care about Obama's records? And why did you point out all that shit about Daschle and the others?

They're totally relevant. Perhaps so relevant that he's purposely hiding them in fear of what it might do to his election chances.

because they(nominees) had illegal issues with them ...Romney doesnt.
I laugh at the press wanting Romney's records, but gives a pass on Obama.
