I can't think of anyone else made to play a role, AND who got the opportunity to play that role, as Sgt Hartman in Full Metal Jacket.

he walked like a USMC drill sergeant, he talked like a drill sergeant, he looked like a drill sergeant, and he WAS a USMC drill sergeant.
