Brees is a big part of why they have to make these cost cutting moves. $26M+ cap hit this year and $33M next.

The Saints now sit at $22MM in dead money, eclipsing us by an extra $5MM, and will likely face more since they are talking about tearing more of it down.

Brees is only $27MM in cap for next season according to overthecap.com but they can save $20MM by making him a pre-June cap cut, so this is his last season in the Big Easy.

He helped create this mess with his contract demands, and he's gone next season, so who cares if he's pissed this year?
