Thought he was 50-50. This is huge for our defense, that front 7 is going to be nasty. Just need a corner to step up.

I'll be honest, I don't think this was a good move for Shilique, he was a round 2 guy, you take he money, the chances you get hurt or move down in the draft are greater than the chances you move into round 1 IMO. Gets to graduate in December though.

I was kind of expecting he would stay. I think he could use another year where a guy like Waynes was ready. Id was hoping the reverse was true when the rumors started, Waynes stays Calhoun goes. Glad we retained 1 of them though.

This gives us a returning captain and probably the most athletic front 7 we've ever had. Safeties are incredibly athletic too, just need the corners to improve and we can have an improved defense next year. Team is loaded over all next year, if a corner and a tail back step up this can be the best team Dantonio has had.

We have 11 defensive and 11 offensive players returning with starting experience. Should be a senior laden team too with a ton of leadership

Shilique coming back makes our front 4 one of the best in the country as opposed to just one of the best in the big ten. the pressure we should get up front will help the corners out a lot too. we should have a ton of talent and depth with Calhoun, Knox, McDowell, Cooper, Heath, Smith, Evans. Sweat, and Jones

Don't forget Thomas. This will be the deepest and most talented team Dantonio has had along both lines. To go along with the best set of athletes weve ever had a safety, and the fastest line backing corps I can remember. On paper this defense is the best we've had save for corner.

I cannot wait for the Spring Game!!!
