Jacob Lacey - DB - Colts

Free agent CB Jacob Lacey will visit the Lions on Thursday.
Lacey is first up as the Lions look to replace 16-game starter Eric Wright. Lacey was benched for a five-game stretch by the Colts last season, and graded out as one of the poorer cornerbacks in the league by Pro Football Focus. He's still two months shy of his 25th birthday, however.

He wouldn't be a starter on this team. not a big deal if we sign him, just depth.

So bad depth? Sweet. I like Slicks remark so I'll use it here, oh joy.

This is truly just kicking the tires on a young guy who we can maybe strike gold with.

Lacey's pretty much played Cover 2 his entire career and has shown to be a willing tackler (regardless of his small frame). Mayhew and Co. are basically wondering if he would take a 1 year, minimum salary deal, to see if he fits into a man system.

If I remember correctly though he came out the same year as a second round CB the Colts drafted named Jurrod Powers or something and pretty much kept him off the field for most of his rookie year. Since then its been pretty blah.
