Of note, Taiwan Jones has moved to the MIKE, Darien Harris has moved to the Star at LB and is up to 228 lbs. Ed Davis slated to start at the SAM although he's going to miss a couple weeks of spring practice with an injury. Darian Hicks is listed as starting CB opposite Waynes.
James Kittredge put all the weight back on and then some from his illness, now listed at 6-4, 295lbs and will be in the DT rotation. Joel Heath listed as a starter at DT, now listed at 6-6, 289. Shilique Calhoun has added some weight, now listed at 6-4, 257 lbs. Lawrence Thomas will stick at DE from here on out. Demetrius Cooper is listed at 6-5, 239 lbs, he's going to be an impact player from game one this season, he's the best athlete on the team at DE.
O line is set with the starting 5 being Conklin, Jackson, Allen, Kruse, and Clark. All 5 played extensively last year as we rotated 8-9 starters every game. Our starting O line averages 309 lbs, one of the biggest in the country. Look for Kieler, McGowan, and Higgins to each see multiple series in every game. Look for Finley or Bodanis to see significant snaps too at tackle.
James Lyles is staying at TE, pretty hard to break into our DE rotation when we think we have 3 or 4 future All Americans there already. Delton Williams still at RB although he'll miss the spring with an injury. WR and DB are the deepest positions on the team, with O line and DE very deep as well.
Overall, we're stacked, going to be bigger, stronger, and faster on both sides of the ball overall. We have to have guys step up as playmakers to replace the guys we lost from our D, but the offense is returning basically intact.
