Stafford comments on offense

Hmm. Not sure I buy that reasoning. It really goes against the whole idea of having a #1 WR.

For his statement to be correct, I have to think 2014 Tate needs to show up.

Lions are less predictable without Calvin. However someone needs to step up as a playmaker

Pass pro and run game must improve with or without Calvin. Offense can be better if they improve in those areas. Tate, Jones, Ebron and Riddick are talented enough to make plenty of plays. Especially if Stafford has time and the defense off balance due to running success

Totally agree!! What's he supposed to say anyways?? He's not going to bitch and moan about 81 not being there. A wholllllllllle lot of 1 on 1's to exploit. Dink and dunk down the field with the occasional bomb. Hit em hard with the run....this offense should not be predictable

not quite sure how they will ever find anyone to run a 7 yard slant the way CJ did on every play.

Yeah the slant and wr screen calvin turned into 7 or 8 yards will be missed big time. His deep ins were money in his prime too

You're the only Lions "fan" to bitch about the way CJ played. It's actually pathetic....

I didn't take it as a complaint on his part but you've sparred with him on here many more times than I have, you'd know before I would.

Calvin's Comment on Matt's comment about it being harder to defend now:

“I felt it should have been easier because they were going to double me a lot of the time, especially in certain situations, so that’s a breakout time for somebody to make something happen,” Johnson said. “That’s one-on-one. That’s what you want.

“...This year, I don’t know who, if anybody, is going to get double-teamed so I think they have the playmakers so if Matt can get them the ball and they can make plays, they can be good, man.”

Running the ball this year would be welcome. We haven't run well in years it seems. Considering this in regards to the second half, it makes Stafford's stats even more impressive. Just think of what a potent run game could do for this offense. I think if they run well, they make the playoffs.

It sounded to me like he was bitching about how they used him not how he played

Same thing!!! He's mad because CJ didn't go deep every fucking play. Blame coaches, blame CJ ...what's the difference? Why bitch about it? CJ took a beating for this team and maybe, just maybe the coaches took notice and tried to salvage his career by changing his style of play. But no, lets bash on the BEST WR this city will ever come across. It's fucking retarded...

They drafted OLinemen specifically to be better at running the football. I hope it works out......

I hope is well. Always wanted a good running game. 5 minutes left with a lead run the ball till zero is on the clock.

Decker should be good. Swanson was horrible last year, hopefully Glasgow makes him better as he may not be ready. Reiff could step it up a notch. Depth seems improved. Guards are good. I have a feeling Zenner is going to be productive. Him, Abdullah, and Riddick should be good enough. Doubt Ridley makes team. Dwayne Washington is intriguing.

I really hope Glasgow picks things up quickly and beats out Swanson. Swanson was a reach when he was drafted, has continued to look like the second coming of Raiola, and I have no faith he'll amount to anything. The guards and RT should be fine, above average with the chance of being really good (if Warford can get back on track).

Decker I just don't know. His scouting report was pretty concerning in pass-pro. We aren't going to become a run-first team, so that's a pretty big deal. I hope he lights it up, but I wouldn't be surprised if the O-line is below average this year because of him and Swanson.
