I'm sure nobody feels worse than him, deservedly so. Your temper may have just cost us a banner.

Does the big ten title really mean anything if they're able to get everyone healthy and win a national championship? No

Yes the big ten title means a lot.

My point is that I'm ok with an injury that comes from a game, practice, training but this was just immaturity.

Bad decisions have consequences

Winning the Big Ten is going to be tough now, but not impossible. UM still has some tough road games coming. Going to assume at Iowa is a loss without Payne. Also have to win at AA for sure and possibly split games at Wisconsin and OSU. The way it looks right now the game at AA might be the earliest we can expect Dawson back and that might be optimistic. 14-4 might still be enough to get a co-title, but I'm not sure I see 4 losses on UM's remaining schedule. Then maybe we win the BTT when hopefully fully healthy again and still get a #1 seed getting some benefit of the doubt with the injuries.

The way Costello seems to be coming on we could possibly withstand Dawson being out IF we can get Payne back out there and soon.

If ap didnt play last night he's not playing for 10 more days. He'll miss Georgetown for sure

Should be ok against Georgetown. They weren't that good to begin with and have been losing players left and right (Josh Smith is done now too). Plus that one is also at home. No point in risking it in a non-conference game.

Edit: I guess the Georgetown game is at MSG, not home. But still.

We might sit appling for Georgetown and just punt that game

Take 28 points and 18 rebounds from any team in the country and see how well they do. It's unrealistic to think that we can win with Gauna and Byrd getting playing time. Yesterday we had a lineup in of Trice Appling Harris Valentine and Gauna. The tallest person on the court is 6'8. How the hell are you going to win like that? You just can't. Without Harris last night we would have lost by 30. Next season is going to be sooooo much fun...

I will be almost stunned if we make the Tourney next year

Who do you guys have coming in as freshmen next year?

You guys lose Payne, Appling, and probably Harris, right? That's a lot to lose, but Izzo is the man. No way he lets you miss the tourney.

I don't know. The 2007 team led by Neitzel seemed like it would be pretty bad and he was able to coax a tourney bid out of that group. Next season should be about like that team. Denzel might be able to step up his game to become the team leader in a number of areas. Trice would be a seasoned point guard with Tum Tum hopefully contributing there. Costello and Schilling could be a credible combination at the 5. Perhaps guys like Kaminski and Ellis become more prominent scorers. Certainly keeping the NCAA bid streak intact would be considered a success.

And who knows? Everyone says Dawson is as good as gone, even if it means going to Europe or the D league, but we'll see. I don't think he's a first rounder at the moment, and this injury won't help.

Rumor is dawson is gone, either nba or europe. Well lose our top 4, bring in lowrawls "tum tum" nairn, top 60 pg, jet quick, had kansas and indiana offers. We also have javon bess, underrated scorer from ohio but not an immediate impact guy. Not sure where the scoring will come from next year, also, no tough frontcourt guys.

We're off to a good start in 2015 witj deyonta davis but all of these big recruiting misses are going to bite us for a year or two.

That makes this year critical for msu

Saw this on facebook after the game, couldn't resist sharing.

"Go green!!!!!! go white!!!! Can't read or right!!!! Or win!!!! Go blue baby!!!!!"

Brilliant.

Dawson leave early to go to the Euro league, that has to be a first. Good riddance!
