Have to admit, sort of ready for the BYE week and a nice, long weekend to reflect and look forward ......

  • Was that a clown stomping last Saturday or a generic beat down..?

  • Did Dantoni-blo (props to MC) go all #FakeNews on being seen on video grinning ear to ear as his team carried out that childish nonsense..?

  • Will Tarik Black, be back..? If so, how much impact might be make for the final 1/3 of the season..?

  • What about Rashan Gary..? Is he pulling a Nick Bosa or will he return for penn state, given the extended recovery time..?

  • If Michigan were to play noter dame sucks again, would the outcome be different..?

  • At what point does Urbz begin to complain about "health issues"..?

And lol, had to email my son's 6th grade principal today about something and turns out his name is Gus Johnson!

It's my birthday on Saturday so I hope it's actually a bi week so my wife finally gets on board with that threesome with Kate Beckinsale. Kate is clearly all in. There's no doubt about that.

    Yes.

  • Will Tarik Black, be back..? If so, how much impact might be make for the final 1/3 of the season..?
I think he'll be back. His impact with increase gradually; won't be felt right away.

  • What about Rashan Gary..? Is he pulling a Nick Bosa or will he return for penn state, given the extended recovery time..?
He'll be back. Not pulling a Nick Bosa

  • If Michigan were to play noter dame sucks again, would the outcome be different..?
    Yes. We would win 24-16

  • At what point does Urbz begin to complain about "health issues"..?
If he beats us again, all will be right in his world. if not? he's going to be complaining about chest pains...

Inquiring minds want to know..

Just glad for a break

Not only is it bye-week, but it is a pretty lame schedule this saturday as far as college football goes

I don't even know if I'll watch any of the lame night games.

Had lunch in Boulder yesterday with a very good friend from undergrad at M. It was just nice, after what seemed like a long time, to be able to talk about a dominating win over a rival and to have sincere optimism going forward. Seems the program is in a different place now and the idea that Harbaugh was ever on any hot seat, more a clickbait/Finebaum sort of topic. I like the depth almost at every position (transfers and injuries notwithstanding) and feel Patterson (and McCaffrey) finally gives us the type of QB that flourishes under Harbaugh. Like I said, I'm glad to have a bye week to enjoy and for my son to attend Paul Rabil's VIP Lacrosse Camp on Saturday.

GO BLUE!

-defensive clownstomping, but not a full clownstomping
-MD didn't mean to lie, he smiles so little he wasn't sure what it was he was doing
-Black will be back, safeties will have a panic attack.
-Gary is no Bosa
-ND was lucky to get us the 1st time and couldn't do it now.
-Severe headaches are miserable and that's what I think is happening.

Pat Forde noted this two weeks ago "What's Wrong With Ohio State?":
SOMETHING IS FLAWED IN URBAN MEYER?S PROGRAM

Outside of Alabama, Ohio State (1) has the deepest reservoir of talent in the nation. The past three Buckeyes recruiting classes have all ranked in the Rivals.com top three nationally, and they?ve had 26 players taken in the past three NFL drafts. Ten of those draft picks have been in the first round; Alabama has had nine first-rounders in the same period of time.

That overwhelming talent base is the biggest reason why Ohio State is 30-5 over the 2016-18 seasons. But for all the athletes, there is a missing element of fierce competitiveness in this Urban Meyer (2) program. When the going gets truly tough, his teams check out.

In the rare instances of defeat, Meyer?s teams don?t just lose. They unravel. The 31-16 home loss to flag-planting Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma. The 31-0 skunking against Clemson in the 2016 College Football Playoff. The 31-point rout at Iowa last year. The 29-point humiliation at the hands of a much more inspired Purdue (3) team Saturday night.

In the face of adversity, the Buckeyes lack poise. They lack resilience. They lack a Plan B. They lack daring. They don?t lose scratching and clawing; they lose rolling over.

...

* Urban himself. He does not look well during games. Whether it?s stress or dread or something else, Meyer very often appears to be steeped in misery ? this year perhaps more than ever. It would seem difficult for players to draw much inspiration in difficult situations from a head coach who looks like he?s physically ill. You wonder if all the August Zach Smith drama has taken an internal toll on an already fragile narcissist.
I also really wonder how much of OSU's success is due to "great coaching" and how much is due to simply having an SEC-like-recruiting stranglehold on Ohio talent through the use of bagmen to grease the skids... and then continuing to pay players for performance while they're there.

If Zach Smith is representative of the type of guy that coaches under Meyer (and look at the Rogues Gallery of failures he's brought in), you can't tell me their success is due to good coaching. There's no way a lying scumbag, who's also a drunk, and dumb as shit like Zach Smith is actually a diligent coach and teacher on the football field.

Stewart Mandel's editor is pushing him to stop calling it a "bye". Technically it isn't. The team is idle. It is not passing on to another round in a tournament.

But the team is not idle either. They are practicing and working hard to prepare for the next game. Perhaps another term needs to be applied to the week where the team does not have a game scheduled?

We can use "Bye Week" capitalized as a defined term, which means "a team which has a bypass in a playoff bracket"

"bye week" uncapitalized just refers to a team that is not playing that week.

If you go back and watch games from the 80's and so forth, they would show the Top 10 and teams not playing did say "IDLE"

Harbaugh calls it, "Improvement week." I'm not really fan, because I hope they plan to improve every week.
