Congratulations to UMDixon for his prediction last week in the game against NJSU, calling for a MICHIGAN win and final score of 45-17. Chippy game but never in doubt, the Wolverines sent the thugs packing and back to NJ and perhaps took a step or two closer to getting the commitment of the #1 player in the nation …Mr. Gary.
Well, on to the Hoosiers …
Aside from the iconic catch made by Anthony Carter against Indiana and the ‘basketball like’ scoring contests under Rich Rod and Hoke, the MICHIGAN vs Indiana rivalry has been incredibly lopsided and unremarkable. So lopsided in fact that MICHIGAN has lost to IU precisely ONCE since 1968 -- in 1987, the year Dirty Dancing, The Princess Bride & RoboCop were all released. (God knows what was in the water that day).
But road games can be tough, as Michigan has demonstrated this year both in Utah and Minneapolis and the Hoosiers can put up some points. Beginning the year 4-0, the Hoosiers have dropped their past five but have been averaging almost 28 points per game during that stretch. It’s safe to say the MICHIGAN Defense will be spread out a bit and tested a little more than in some other games this season although Vegas likes the road team Wolverines with a current line of MICHIGAN -13 and Over/Under of 56 Total Points.
A school known far, far more for its prowess on the basketball court in a game most at the beginning of the season checked off for MICHIGAN got a lot more important last Saturday night after what transpired in Stinkin’ Lincoln, Nebraska. With the BigTen Title game back on the table and even some chatter about the National Playoff picture, this weekend’s game in Bloomington went from a “sure win” to a “must win” for MICHIGAN.
So go ahead and post your predictions but leave the woofing and barking for other threads …
