Nothing like a BYE week to recover from those bumps and bruises ?.and for the players too. Well, on to Michigan State ?

Toe meets leather at Noon EST this Saturday in Ann Arbor when long-time in state foes MICHIGAN and Michigan State square off for The 112th time.

Following the victory over noter dame, the MICHIGAN WOLVERINES traveled to Maryland and took care of the hapless Terps before getting a well-timed break ahead of the final stretch run of games. Michigan State, on the other hand, comes into Ann Arbor riding a four-game losing streak comprised of an absolutely brutal three-game stretch at Ohio, at Madison against Penn State and an almost unthinkable collapse vs Illinois last week. Before bouncing back against the Illini and putting 34pts on the board, the State offense had managed only seventeen points against the ?big 3? while giving up a whopping one-hundred in return. While this is a huge rivalry game and always will be, the two teams (and programs) seem headed in different directions at this time.

It will be cold on Saturday ?not wet (thank God!) but pretty classic, Michigan football weather. The odds-makers seem to have been watching the TV these past weeks and have MICHIGAN as a solid home favorite at, MICHIGAN ? 13.5, having opened at -12. The Over/Under of 44 total points seems to speak the defensive tendency of games when these two collide as well as to the weather perhaps limiting the offenses just a bit.

The Away Team has won each of the last four meetings in this BigTen East rivalry and between a muffed punt and a rain-soaked five turnover debacle in 2017, I don?t know any Wolverines who are taking this game lightly at all.

MSU had the edge in psyche in this game for several years. I feel like that has eroded and Michigan should be confident and ready to continue what transpired vs ND. Coach Dantonio has a way of getting his guys fired up for this game, but that could be difficult considering the tumultuous season MSU is currently having. I think Michigan would have to play a sloppy game on top of that this time also. Anything can happen of course, but all signs point to a comfortable Michigan win, and I'd be disappointed with anything less.
