Congratulations to Spartanmack for having the closest call for the shootout in Bloomington last Saturday with a prediction of 48-45, Wolverines. The ?Cardiac Kids? did it to us once again and made it come down to the very last play but like in Minneapolis, the good guys prevailed.

...And God Bless Chad Carr!!

Okay, on to Penn State (or PaS as abcd1960 would have written) ?.

I wondered why so many of the experts were touting Christian Hackenberg during the pre-season and saying things about him being the possible #1 overall NFL draft pick in the spring. When I saw him last year in Ann Arbor in a loss against Hoke?s 5-7 squad he didn?t look impressive at all. And in the first game of this season against Temple (before Temple was suddenly Temple! this year) he looked almost inept. Since week one, the team has righted the ship a bit and the Nittany Lions come into this weekend?s home match up against MICHIGAN with only three losses ?to Temple, Ohio State and last week to Northwestern, but much of Penn State?s success this season seems to depend on which Hackenberg shows up ?the NFL-can?t-miss-next-thing or just another big dude with an arm?

Given the tighter contests recently for MICHIGAN, there are no more multi-touchdown spreads. The line opened a bit higher but as of this post, it?s MICHIGAN -4.5 with a modest Over/Under of 42.5 total points. Plagued by injuries and facing its second road contest in a row, for this MICHIGAN team to have the chance to put its stamp on history, this next Chapter in ?Happy Valley? is a crucial one.

A win opens the door for a possibly epic clash in The Game against Ohio State, while a loss to Penn State means MICHIGAN will have nothing to lose back in Ann Arbor Thanksgiving weekend ?

So go ahead and post your predictions and some supportive analysis if you wish, but leave the woofing and barking (and bad math) for other threads ?
