If were going to make any moves youd think itd have to be over the next 5 weeks. Last 7 looks tough and depending on our record at that time we may only be favored vs indy and ari during that stretch. The shitty part about that is 4 of the next 5 are on the road lol. If we fuck up and have a losing record over the next 5, then mail it in and start up your "tank for a better draft pick" threads!

I see 4 more wins

They need to get be at 6-5 after a loss to the Texans on Thanksgiving. Meaning

Beat Colts 7-5. Then win 3 out of next 4(like they did in 2011 from 7-5) which at Zona, Bears is do-able but beating Falcons or at GB is very tough.

I think 9-7 could make the playoffs though as the Lions could have made the playoffs at 9-7 last year as long as they beat Cowboys and Bears still.

Lions win (at Eagles or at Bears)1, Seattle2, at Jags3, , at Minnesota4 and Green Bay5, Indy6 at Arizona7, Bears8 they got a shot at 9-7 and some tiebreakers won if they beat Eagles,Seahawks and Arizona.

This kinda goes along with the discussion lol. Heres Scouts top 32 so far. Bjoern Werner is like a KVB clone and would be a nice pick up for our D in the top 15. We'll probably go Justin Hunter, WR though....

1. Jarvis Jones* OLB Georgia 95
2. Star Lotulelei DT Utah 95
3. Geno Smith QB W. Virginia 95
4. Matt Barkley QB USC 94
5. Barkevious Mingo* DE LSU 94
6. Chance Warmack G Alabama 94
7. Johnathan Jenkins DT Georgia 93
8. Manti Te'o ILB Notre Dame 93
9. Bjoern Werner* DE Florida St 93
10. Alec Ogletree* ILB Georgia 92
11. Justin Hunter* WR Tennessee 92
12. Johnathan Hankins* DT Ohio State 92
13. Corey Lemonier* DE Auburn 92
14. Jonathan Cooper OG N. Carolina 92
15. Sam Montgomery* DE LSU 92
16. Sylvester Williams DT N. Carolina 91
17. Dee Milliner* CB Alabama 91
18. Bennie Logan* DT LSU 90
19. Dallas Thomas OT Tennessee 90
20. Robert Woods* WR USC 90
21. Johnthan Banks CB Miss. St 89

I can't explain it but I suddenly feel like they are going to beat Phily Sunday, it just came on all of a sudden, weird.. I'm going to pick against them though just to help make sure..

I don't think 9-7 gets you a wild card this year...of course I don't think it matters....I don't see the Lions winning more than 7 games.

Why's that. 2 spots. South all have bad records. Giants or Eagles get that division, and they beat up on themselves as Philly is only 3-2 and playing Detroit. San Fran will take the West and Zona should fold plus play the Lions along with Seattle. 9-7 could take it. 9-7 could have taken it last year.

The two wild cards were 10-6 last year. As far as this year I agree SF will take the west but AZ or Seattle could easily be 9-7. Then look at the north. MN and the Bears are both 4-1 and GB is 2-3. Not that the Lions have to win the division but all of those teams have a better chance to win 10 than the Lions winning 9. Finally you have the East. Philly and the Giants are both 3-2. One will win the division and I think the other will win 9 or 10. It is very likely that it will take 10 wins for a WC. I really think I am wasting my time though....the Lions are likely to lose this week.

Here is how I see them finishing the year

@ Philly - L
@ Chi - L
vs Seatle - coin flip
@ Jac - W
@ MN - L
vs GB - coin flip
vs Houston - L
vs Indy - W
@ GB - L
@ Az - L
vs Atl - L
vs Bears - coin flip

even if they win all three coin flip games they end up 6-10

9-7 is a super long shot if you ask me....BUT...the good news is we play all the "projected" wild cards so technically we still control our own destiny. If theres a bunch of people sitting at 9-7 and we won head to head games against the philly, ari, and seattles of the world....then we should have the tie breaker on them.

I still think we end up with 5 - 6 wins unless something dramatic changes the way weve played the first 1/4. aka....linehan gets his head out of his ass.

Detroit can beat teams. They need to quit fucking up. Hell, every week the league is full of upsets. Its just dumb to think we can't win more than 4 or 5 more games.

I agree....there are upsets every week and the Lions could turn it around. I just don't see it based on watching their last 16 games. They are 6-10 over their last 16 games including the playoffs.

True but we've had injuries at key spots, Delmas being the biggest. And ST, who gives up that many scores? Without those mess ups we're 3-1. But Delmas is important.

That's how I feel, as bad as we have looked we've still been within a touchdown every single game. It'd be one thing if we were losing by 14 a game or something.

but we havent played a team with a good offense yet either. remember last year when we thought we were good then flynn and brees torched us? ya just wait till we get to the GB, HOU, ATL games....then we can judge our defense. We had an extremely easy schedule the first 4 games...and we laid an egg.

Let's just worry about this week. If we lose this week we won't make the playoffs and from there your record doesn't matter anyway. Do or die week for the Lions. We're going to see if last year was a fluke or not. I could be a homer but my guess is that they show up BIG sunday.
