This team is trying to kill me

OK I am not complaining at all. But the way this team starts and the last 2 1st halfs have been about as bad as they can get. However we are 4-0. My blood pressure is shot to hell. My nerves are a mess. My carpet has a path worn in it from pacing in front of the TV and if if you asked my neighbors I am sure they hate football season lol. I wonder would Killer would be saying about them lol. I love this team they have a ton of heart and fight. No clue still how they did it but what a game.

The Best part is they still have lots of room for improvement and shouldn't have any problems not getting complacent.

There's a lot to be happy about. I know our O line played below average today, but for the season they have given up zero sacks in 3 of the 4 games and 5 over all. They are on pace to give up 20 sacks for the whole year.

Boy will this be the most pumped up a Lions team is next Monday night!!!

The new confidence that these wins have now given this team will pay huge dividends throughout this year and even next. At no point will this team quit, nor should the fans quit on them. It is actually a good thing these games were on the road as if they were at home there would have been fans leaving early in droves while making "same ol' Lions" comments. Seeing the stands half empty might have had a negative enough impact on the mental part of the game that enough players would have rolled over and quit, thereby fulfilling those fan comments. With them being road games, they were able to come together as a team and show the world these Lions will not quit.

Try being at the games, on the road, not only is the team killing me, the fans are too....but I got the last laugh

My wife walked into the living room and asked me why I was up in front of the TV pacing. I told her I couldn't sit down. She laughed at me the rest of the game.

Great win for the Lions but I'm still having trouble believing in them. They look to be very talented and resiliant but the 2 teams they came back on (Minny and Dallas) already have a record this year of pissing away large leads late in the game. Better defenses and offenses won't allow these types of come backs imo. Detroit has to tighten up if they're going to be serious contenders in that division. That being said I would love for Dallas to be 4-0 instead of having 2 games where they've given away games up by both 17 in the 4th against a bad offense and up 17 at half in Dallas. Good win Detroit.

PS. Calvin Johnson is ridiculous.

How many better defenses and offenses are we gonna face this year? Green Bay x2, N.O., Atlanta and San Diego. If those are the only games we lose, that puts us at 11 wins. But I think the Lions will clean up their first half play and be able to win games against better teams.

Atlanta sucks. They're definitely not as good as most people thought they would be.

I really hope that these slow starts are caused by playing on the road. At some point putting yourself in a early hole is going to hurt this team. But its nice to have the players to be able to make comebacks.

i don't know what happened at minnesota, but you could see what was wrong in the dallas game. I mentioned it in the game thread too. Matt stafford came out nervous as hell, mostly because he was playing against his childhood team in Dallas. He had a couple bad drives and by that time we were already down big and abandoned the run, when oddly, it was working for us. It made us one dimensional and then Rob Ryan just teed off on Stafford.

Once we got the two pick 6's, we ran the ball a few times and the defense softened up a little. If not for stafford's nerves to start the game, we wouldn't have had to comeback from such a big deficit.

I don't think the nerves will be there anymore and hopefully not in his first prime time game next week, but as I said in the game thread, that first half was not indicative of how good or bad the lions actually are.

Good post. He looked very tense and like the moment was too big for him but as his team rallied for him he gained composure and had a pretty solid game.

If both the Minnesota and Dallas games 1st half issues would have been the same I might be a little more worried than I am right now. Our OLine had a rough outing against Minnesota and Stafford just came out nervous as previously stated against Dallas. He typically starts off making much more crisp passes. It's ok though since we still managed to get the all important W's added to the record.

The team knows that they still have a lot to work on to become consistent and they are not content with the play they have shown so far. Keep those Lions hungry and we can feast on some Bears, Dirty Birds, Broncos, Panthers and hopefully chew up some cheese at the seasons end!

It's good to see that Lion fans are playing it cool. 4-0 is great but I really can't remember 2 games where the coaching was this bad, as far as the Minn and Dallas games. Det has been given 4 gift games. At some point they will have to face a well coached team. Then we'll see what's up.

Who gives a shit how they win as long as they win. Look at all the bad breaks the Lions have had over the years, its about damn time they got some good ones.

I would also like to think that Detroit will find some consistency. If they play 4 quarters I believe they can be in any game that they play and have a chance to win against any team. The wins feels great but there is still a lot to accomplish at this point. Sure does feel good opening the season like this though!

it isnt easy to play 3 of 4 on the road even with a great team. We have beaten 2 playoff caliber teams on the road being Dallas and Tampa Bay. I really do hope we can come out and play good for 60 min. 5-0 with 2 div wins would be great to have.
