Tigers 2024-2025 Offseason: Trades, Free Agents, Call ups, Rule 5, tender, non-tender, Awards

Unless they swing some trades, we're looking at the same team. Over paying 1 year deals isn't moving the needle for me. If the owner isn't serious about winning then what are we doing here? We need legit bats in this lineup. Spend some money you cheap fuck

We were a playoff team. Weather that was luck, or whatever we made it with youth. Who says we can't do it again.

Well we could always add a couple legit bats and another starter and be division favorites. But that would require adding 50m to the payroll to put us in the middle of the pack.
You'll still need those players whoever they are to want to come here. And if these players have lots of options other teams can just offer more money. Detroit is not a top designation. We'd be better offer making a trade or try and get tier b and tier c free agents.

That would just bring in more guys that we won't pay lol. Seriously tho, trades are how I'd build the team. So I'm with you on that. Just not sure we'll place a realistic value on our prospects.

Depends if you can get someone who isn't old as fk I'd be okay with that - prospects are just that prospects. I'm okay trading them. The chance them succeeding is riskier than a proven guy (Javy Baez not withstanding). Maybe we get another Miggy Type trade.

PLANTING, NOT YET HARVESTING.
Totally Tigers

The Detroit Tigers may not have made more than 1 acquisition over the Winter Meetings, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t really busy. There is lots going on.
But the majority of their moves won’t be made for weeks yet. Maybe even months. Let’s not forget that the Hot Stove season just really started and there are 2 more months to go.
Keep in mind that most deals come after the biggest free agents have signed. Teams that lose out on their top picks now have to re-allocate their dollars and re-adjust their goals. After the Soto signing, the trade and free agent markets will loosen up a little and the other significant free agents will start to sign, freeing up everyone else.
So what have the Tigers been doing? Here are my biggest takeaways so far.
